Meeting with Father Florencio Minguez

On Tuesday, June 15, 2010, had the grace to have a brief meeting with Father Florencio Minguez, Franciscan Missionary Pastor of Immaculate Flor de Punga (Peru).

We all appreciated his valuable experience as a missionary in the Peruvian Amazon and start coordinating the construction of the next phase of decent housing. This time, decent housing will be performed in villages near Flor de Punga, as the living conditions of some families make it necessary.

told us that his current priorities are:
  • Extender and strengthen the network of Christian leaders, which are essential part of Christian living Amazonian communities. Support
  • higher education scholarships for young people able to overcome and progress.
  • is also necessary to support elementary education for over 250 children without parents. In this work, the help of Mother Courage has been and is the mainstay. Anyway would like to extend aid to families unable to sustain spending on education for all children. Additionally
  • thousand gaps exist that need our attention: food and nutritional support, health care, etc.

With these objectives we will work to support the work of Florencio Br. Any help and cooperation is welcome. Do not hesitate to contact us:

Promotion in Jerez de la Frontera

This past Monday, June 1, was held in Jerez de la Frontera an act to promote our association. It was attended by friends, associates and interested in knowing.

The ceremony was conducted by Fray Jose Maria Estevez, thankfully largely recovered from his illness. He told us so pleasant, the grounds and reasons leading to the Christians to engage with their peers. Poverty calls us to share what little or much we have, similar to how Christ himself divided and fed a crowd, with a few loaves and fishes. Also outlined briefly, the history of our association, objectives and diversity of experiences in the Peruvian Amazon.

After the words of Fray José María, was projected in the presentation of our association.

happened to be a friendly conversation, in which participants had the opportunity to discuss their views and ask questions you have.

The event concluded with a brief word from our president: D. Javier Rubio with whom thanked the attendees, inviting us to get involved and take active part in the activities of the association.
